Canopy Lights
LED canopy lights are low-profile fixtures mounted to the underside of a canopy or covered structure. They light the area directly below, where people drive, park, fuel, load and walk, without the glare and maintenance of older metal halide canopy fixtures.
Edge LED supplies and installs canopy lighting for commercial properties in Indianapolis and Central Indiana, and accepts canopy project inquiries nationwide.

Any covered area that needs even, bright light at night is a candidate for LED canopy fixtures. Common applications include:
- Gas station and fuel pump canopies
- Drive-through lanes at restaurants, banks and pharmacies
- Covered parking and the top levels of parking structures
- Loading docks and covered loading areas
- Hotel, hospital and office building entrances and drop-off areas
Fixture types to consider
Most canopy projects use one of two mounting styles. Surface-mount canopy fixtures attach to the canopy deck and are a common choice for retrofits because they can cover the openings left by older fixtures. Recessed canopy fixtures sit within the deck for a flush look and usually suit new construction or decks already cut for recessed lights.
Beyond mounting, the main choices are wattage and light output for the canopy height, color temperature, beam distribution for the spacing between fixtures, and controls such as photocells or dimming. We confirm these details with you against the actual site before ordering.
Canopy lighting for gas stations
Fuel canopies are one of the most visible parts of a gas station at night. Even canopy lighting helps customers see the pumps and payment screens and helps the station stand out from the road. Upgrading canopies is often part of a wider station project that also covers the building exterior, wall packs and parking lot poles.
See our Gas Station Lighting page for how we plan and install complete station lighting upgrades.
Replacing older canopy fixtures
When replacing existing fixtures, we check the canopy deck openings, wiring, mounting height and fixture spacing so the new LED fixtures fit and light the area evenly. Some sites may qualify for utility rebates on LED upgrades; we can help you review the program requirements before the project starts.
